shineBRIGHT was jointly founded by Starpath Dance Academy founder Lindsey Kaplowitz and Starpath teacher Brittany Spartz, both of whom come from extensive dance and childhood development backgrounds.
Lindsey Kaplowitz
Founder and CEO Miss Lindsey has been dancing for 36 years, and teaching for 23 of them. Lindsey started training at a young age with former Radio City Rockette Cheryl Andersen, and then trained with noted instructor Keith Banks as a teenager. Growing up, Lindsey starred in numerous productions of California's Valley Dance Theatre's Nutcracker and participated in many California statewide and nationwide competitions, including Kids Artistic Revue, Showstopper, and Starpower.
Lindsey continued her dance journey in North Carolina at UNC-Chapel Hill, where she served as President, choreographer, and teacher for Blank Canvas, UNC's largest student dance group. After graduation, Lindsey worked for the Carolina Ballet before returning to California to direct, choreograph, and teach at a popular, multi-city dance academy in the San Francisco Bay Area. While there, she planned, coordinated, and successfully executed more than 100 recitals and performances. After returning to North Carolina, she served as a committee member for UNC-Chapel Hill's Endowment for the Arts and danced with members of the acclaimed Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater before opening up Starpath Dance Academy in 2013. Miss Lindsey's truest passion is sharing the joy of dance with her students and helping them fulfill their potential both inside and outside of the dance studio. |
